Enosburgh woman’s remains likely found in wooded area

ENOSBURGH — Vermont State Police discovered human remains believed to be that of 82-year-old Roberta Martin on Sunday in a wooded area off Sand Hill Road in Enosburgh, not far from her home.

Authorities began searching for Martin after she was reported missing.

The remains were located at around 11 a.m. and the site was promptly secured for investigation.

The Vermont State Police Crime Scene Search Team has been processing the area for evidence.

While officials have yet to formally identify the remains, they are presumed to be those of Martin.

The body has been sent to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for official identification and to determine the cause of death.

Currently, no arrests have been made in connection with the discovery.

State Police are actively continuing their investigation and urge anyone with information to come forward.
