West Rutland man arrested on suspicion of DUI after crash

WEST RUTLAND — Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland barracks arrested a Pennsylvania man on suspicion of DUI following a single-vehicle accident on Whipple Hollow Road.

The incident occurred on July 19 at around 5 p.m., when authorities were alerted to the crash.

Troopers identified the driver as Alexander Dubas, 25, of S. Abbington Township, PA.

According to the police report, Dubas exhibited several signs of impairment at the scene.

After a preliminary screening, he was taken into custody.

At the State Police Barracks, a Drug Recognition Expert evaluated Dubas, and he was later transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center for a blood sample.

Dubas was released pending criminal charges, which will be determined by the analysis of the blood test results.

The Vermont State Police have not provided further details about the crash at this time.
