LEWISTON — Gunshots rang out late last night in the HillView housing complex, prompting a swift response from local authorities.
At about 9:40 p.m., Lewiston Police officers in the vicinity of Sabattus Street reported hearing gunshots originating from the HillView/Rideout area.
Concurrently, several calls from residents on Rideout Avenue came in, confirming the gunfire at the HillView complex.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found at least one vehicle that had been struck by bullets.
Early reports indicate there were no injuries as a result of the shooting.
The Lewiston Police Department continues to investigate the incident, with officers canvassing the area for evidence and potential witnesses.
The motives and potential suspects remain unknown at this stage.
