LOWELL — Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Greg Hudon announced an ongoing investigation into a shooting that took place early this morning, leaving one man dead and two others injured.
At about 4:53 a.m., Lowell Police were called to a shooting incident in the parking lot of a Temple on Middlesex Street.
Officers found several victims with gunshot wounds.
Emergency services transported two individuals to a local hospital, where a 43-year-old Lowell man was pronounced deceased.
A 34-year-old man is currently receiving treatment.
Additionally, a 26-year-old woman with minor injuries sought medical attention independently.
Initial findings indicate that a confrontation escalated among a group in the parking lot before the gunfire erupted.
There are no indications that the incident was connected to the Temple itself.
As of now, no suspects have been apprehended, and authorities are actively investigating the matter.
