MIDDLETON — A tragic accident claimed the life of a 53-year-old man today after a pickup truck rolled onto him, New Hampshire State Police reported.

At 2:06 p.m., Troopers from Troop A responded to a distress call at 101 Access Road where they found William Miners III of Madison pinned under a 2012 Ford F-550 dump truck.

Despite the immediate efforts of emergency services, Miners was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the incident.

The early findings of the investigation suggest that the pickup truck rolled backward, trapping Miners beneath it.

Although the death appears accidental, State Police are conducting a thorough review of the circumstances.

The State Police were supported at the scene by local agencies including Wakefield Police Department, Wakefield Fire Rescue Department, and the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Representatives from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and personnel from Crowell’s Towing & Repair were also present to assist in the investigation and recovery efforts.

Authorities are encouraging anyone with relevant information to come forward and have provided contact details for Trooper Matthew Bailey, leading the inquiry.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing to determine all contributing factors.
