CORNWALL — A Salisbury man was cited for driving with a criminally suspended license after his tractor struck a telephone pole on Cross Road near VT Route 30 on July 19.

Vermont State Troopers were called to the scene at 1:03 p.m. where they found 39-year-old Richard Quesnel, who was mowing the road’s edges when his vehicle collided with the pole, causing wires to fall.

Quesnel was wearing a seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries.

There was no damage reported to the tractor.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that Quesnel’s license was criminally suspended and he was required to have an ignition interlock device installed in his vehicle, which was not present in the farm tractor he was operating.

Quesnel was subsequently issued a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date to face charges for the violations.

Members of the Addison County Sheriff’s Department, Middlebury Regional EMS, and Cornwall Fire Department provided assistance at the scene.
