RICHMOND — A local man was arrested following a shooting that injured a woman in Richmond on Friday.
Dylan Davis, 23, was taken into custody around 2:15 p.m. after a standoff that lasted for hours at the Meadow Lane residence where the shooting occurred.
He faces charges including aggravated domestic assault with a deadly weapon, domestic assault and reckless endangerment.
The 60-year-old female victim, a relative of Davis, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
In accordance with their policy, the Vermont State Police did not release her name.
Authorities were alerted to a domestic disturbance at approximately 11:30 a.m. An officer from the Hinesburg Police Department, which serves Richmond, spoke to the parties involved and initially found no evidence of violence.
However, as the officer departed, the woman emerged from the house alleging Davis had shot her.
A perimeter was established and multiple agencies responded, including the Vermont State Police’s Williston Barracks and Crisis Negotiation Unit, Williston Police Department, a mental health crisis worker, and rescue teams.
Davis eventually exited the home and surrendered peacefully.
The Hinesburg Police Department is leading the investigation.
