Woman arrested for domestic assault in Brighton

BRIGHTON — Vermont State Police responded to a domestic assault incident involving a Brighton woman on VT Route 105 in Charleston at approximately 2:02 p.m. on July 18.

Barbara Corey, 41, was taken into custody after police were alerted to an assault in a moving vehicle.

Upon investigation, officers determined that Corey had assaulted a member of her household.

Following her arrest, Corey was processed at the Derby Barracks.

She has been issued a citation to appear before the Orleans County Superior Court on July 19 at 12:30 p.m.

The Vermont State Police has confirmed that a mugshot is available.

In alignment with policies to protect victims, the identity of the assaulted household member has not been released.
