SPRINGFIELD — Two Massachusetts women were arrested on felony charges after police discovered them with a stolen vehicle and drugs outside a local gas station.

Brandi Bragdon and Melissa Pelletier were taken into custody on July 11 at 8:03 p.m. following a report of suspicious behavior at the Circle K on Missing Link Road, according to authorities.

Officers from the Weathersfield Police Department responded to the scene where they found the suspects in a silver sedan that had been reported stolen from Boston.

The women attempted to flee as police approached but were unable to maneuver the car and were subsequently detained after a brief struggle.

A search of the vehicle uncovered drug paraphernalia, including crack pipes, heroin bags, scales, and hypodermic needles, along with a white powder that did not immediately test positive for cocaine.

A follow-up search warrant executed on a handbag from the vehicle revealed cocaine on July 16.

Bragdon and Pelletier are scheduled to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on Sept. 10 to face charges of Possession of Stolen Property, Attempting to Elude, and Possession of Cocaine.
