SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Police Department arrested a local man on DUI drug charges after responding to reports of erratic driving near Riverside Middle School.
Joseph Higginbotham was taken into custody after officers located his vehicle on Valley Street at approximately 5:03 p.m. on June 13.
Officers Singleton, Callahan, and Freeman conducted an investigation, which, following blood test results from the Vermont Forensic Laboratory, suggested Higginbotham was under the influence of drugs.
Higginbotham is set to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on Sept. 10 to respond to the DUI drug charge.
The Springfield Police Department clarified that issues regarding bail and incarceration are managed by the Judicial System, not the police.
