BRADFORD — A single-vehicle crash on Vermont Route 5 near Charles Field Road has resulted in the death of a local man, police say.

Jackson Metayer, 32, of Bradford, succumbed to his injuries following the accident that occurred on June 15.

Initially treated at DHMC for serious injuries, Metayer was unable to recover.

Vermont State Police responded to the crash site shortly after 1:16 a.m. to find Metayer’s 2023 Mazda CX 30 ablaze after it struck a telephone pole.

A passerby had extinguished the fire before emergency services arrived.
