BOSTON — Two men were arrested and three firearms were recovered late Tuesday night after Boston Police responded to a person-with-a-gun call in Mattapan.

At approximately 11:36 p.m., officers from District B-3 pursued Markeith Walton, 21, of Marlborough, and Robert Scott, 26, of Mattapan, following a report of armed individuals at 33 Stanton Street.

Police were informed of a group of four men and provided descriptions of two suspects carrying guns.

Upon their arrival, police witnessed the group near two vehicles.

When officers approached, the suspects fled, with two jumping a fence and another driving off in a vehicle, striking an officer in the process.

The injured officer was later taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

One suspect was apprehended in the parking lot, and another was caught near 234 Norfolk Street, from whom officers recovered a firearm.

A third firearm was found inside an unoccupied vehicle at the scene, and a fourth was located in nearby woods along with a high-capacity magazine.

The guns were identified as a Polymer 80, a Smith and Wesson M&P, both with rounds in the chamber, and a Glock 43 with rounds in the magazine.

Walton, who had an existing arrest warrant for firearm offenses, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, a large capacity feeding device, and trespassing.

Scott was charged with trespassing.

Both suspects are due to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
