Vandals damage school fields in Topsham, Bradford

TOPSHAM — Vermont State Police are investigating acts of vandalism that caused extensive damage to athletic fields at two schools in Orange County over the weekend.

On July 14 at 12:54 p.m., troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to reports of property damage at Waits River Valley School in Topsham.

Investigators determined that around noon on July 13, a silver Honda Civic with Vermont license plates drove erratically across the school’s baseball field, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

A similar incident occurred at Oxbow High School in Bradford, where a vehicle matching the description caused comparable damage to athletic fields.

The Bradford Police Department is investigating that case separately.

Authorities have released images of the suspect vehicle and its occupants.

The Vermont State Police are asking anyone with information about the incidents or the identity of the suspects to contact the St. Johnsbury Field Station at 802-222-4680.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted online through the Vermont State Police website.

No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.

The exact cost of the damage has not yet been determined.
