Johnson man arrested for DUI, driving with suspended license

JOHNSON — Vermont State Police arrested a Hyde Park man Monday for driving under the influence and operating a vehicle with a criminally suspended license.

Troopers stopped Sawyer Gardner, 23, at 6:18 p.m. on Route 15 in Johnson for a motor vehicle violation.

During the traffic stop, officers observed signs of impairment and discovered Gardner’s license was under criminal suspension.

Gardner was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and transported to the Morrisville Police Department for processing.

He was later released with a citation to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court to face charges of DUI and driving with a criminally suspended license.

The Vermont State Police did not provide further details about the initial motor vehicle violation or the specific signs of impairment observed during the stop.
