Home invasion arrests made in Groton

GROTON — Four individuals were arrested following a reported home invasion and assault at an apartment complex early Sunday morning, police said.

At 3:23 a.m. on July 14, the City of Groton Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting an individual was being beaten with a bat and a gun was displayed at Branford Manor apartments, according to authorities.

Responding officers stopped a vehicle leaving the scene and identified the occupants as being involved in the assault.

A victim with injuries was located and transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital.

Police arrested Bryon McClellan, 35, of New London, on charges including home invasion, assault and carrying a dangerous weapon.

He is being held on $250,000 bond.

Three others were also arrested and released on $10,000 bond each:

– Shanice McClellan, 32, of Baltic, charged with home invasion and conspiracy to commit assault
– Shilo Noon, 40, of New London, charged with burglary and conspiracy to commit assault
– Keyonia Bell, 24, of Groton, charged with burglary

All four suspects are due in court on July 15 or July 29.

The investigation is ongoing.
