DANBURY — Police divers searched a Connecticut lake for two missing swimmers before suspending efforts early Tuesday morning.
The Danbury Police Department Dive Team was called to Candlewood Lake around 10:30 p.m. Monday to assist with search and rescue efforts, authorities said.
The search was halted about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday and was set to resume later in the morning.
Officials asked boaters to avoid the area around City Island.
Candlewood Town Park and the Danbury boat launch were closed during the search operation.
Police did not immediately release further details about the missing swimmers or the circumstances surrounding their disappearance.
