HOOKSETT — A Chichester man was arrested Monday evening after a two-car collision in Hooksett that left a 70-year-old man seriously injured, police said.

Hooksett Police and Fire/EMS responded to the scene at the intersection of Hooksett Road and Dale Road around 7:38 p.m. where they discovered a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta involved in the accident.

Brady Gut, 31, the driver of the Jeep, was attempting a left turn onto Hooksett Road when he collided with the Jetta, driven by Clarence Darling of Hooksett, who was traveling southbound.

Darling suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Gut did not sustain any injuries.

Following a preliminary investigation, Gut was taken into custody and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated.

He was later released on cash bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at Hooksett District Court on July 25 at 8:15 a.m.

The collision caused moderate traffic delays as the Hooksett Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit conducted further investigation into the incident.
