CHARLTON — After receiving a report of a young boy in pajamas walking on Muggett Hill Road at 10:33 p.m. last night, Charlton Police Department officers scoured the area but found no one matching the description.

Concerned for the child’s safety, the department deployed additional resources including a tracking K9 unit, drones, and extra personnel to aid in the search.

The individual who reported the sighting was asked to return to the scene to provide more details and help determine the exact location where the child was spotted.

In an effort to alert the community, a “Code Red” Emergency Alert was issued to residents in the vicinity, advising them of the ongoing search.

Despite the extensive efforts that continued into the early morning hours, with the outside assets withdrawing after 1 a.m., authorities found no further evidence of a child in distress or any indication of a missing person.

On-duty officers maintained a presence in the area throughout the remainder of the night, ensuring the safety of the community and standing ready to respond to any new information.
