EAST GREENWICH — Rhode Island State Police arrested two individuals on separate warrants following traffic stops on Route 4 Tuesday.
At 7:05 p.m., troopers arrested Jan Carlos Arroyo-Diaz, 23, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, on charges of obstruction and a Providence Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for a pre-trial conference.
The warrant stemmed from charges of assault with intent to commit murder, two counts of felony assault and battery, and disorderly conduct, originally filed by the Pawtucket Police Department.
Arroyo-Diaz was processed at the Wickford Barracks, arraigned before a justice of the peace, and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center as a bail violator.
In a separate incident at 11:28 p.m., troopers arrested Octaviani Garcia, 34, of Providence, Rhode Island, on a Third Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Both arrests occurred during routine traffic stops on Route 4 in East Greenwich.
