WOODFORD — A New York man sustained minor injuries early Tuesday morning after his vehicle veered off Vermont Route 9 and crashed into a garage, Vermont State Police said.
Michael Prosser, 34, of Malta, NY, was driving a 2019 Honda HRV at around 2:16 a.m. during the crash, resulting in severe front-end damage to his vehicle.
The accident occurred near Erbs Way, where Prosser’s vehicle left the road and struck a garage, causing significant structural damage.
State police, along with local emergency services, responded to the scene.
Vermont Route 9 was temporarily closed as crews worked to clear the scene and repair powerlines affected by the crash.
Prosser, who was wearing his seatbelt, was transported to the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center (SVMC) with minor injuries.
The road was reopened after the vehicle was towed and powerline repairs were made by Green Mountain Power.
The Vermont State Police were assisted by Bennington Fire, Bennington Rescue, Leblanc’s Towing, and Green Mountain Power.
The crash is under investigation, but no further details have been released at this time.
