LEWISTON — Police in Lewiston rushed to the scene of a reported shooting on Knox St. on Sunday night after receiving calls about gunfire.
At approximately 11:28 p.m., officers arrived at 54 Knox St. to find over a dozen shell casings scattered across the street.
Although the shots fired did not result in any injuries, several bullets were found to have caused damage to nearby buildings and vehicles.
Despite efforts by the Lewiston Police Department to gain information from individuals believed to be present at the time of the shooting, potential witnesses were uncooperative with authorities.
As a result, the investigation into the incident continues as police seek to determine the circumstances surrounding the event and identify those responsible.
The Lewiston Police Department is urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
