NEW HAVEN — In a troubling spate of gun violence, seven individuals were shot in three separate incidents across the city within the last 24 hours, according to New Haven Police Department.
The first shooting occurred on July 13 at approximately 9:11 p.m. when an 18-year-old man walked into Yale-New Haven Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, a New Haven resident, was injured in the vicinity of State Street and Ferry Street but is expected to survive.
Police discovered a crime scene at the location and detectives are actively investigating the incident.
A second shooting was reported later the same night at 11:40 p.m. following a ShotSpotter activation and numerous 911 calls about gunfire near Ivy Street and Shelton Avenue.
Officers found a crime scene in a Hazel Street parking lot and two female victims, aged 26 from New Haven and 24 from Hamden.
Both women were transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital and are in stable condition.
Additionally, two men, aged 31 from Hamden and 30 from New Haven, arrived at the hospital independently, suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot injuries.
The most recent shooting happened on the morning of July 14 at 6:22 a.m. in the area of Level Street and Lodge Street, where officers located another crime scene.
A 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both from New Haven, were shot and later arrived at different campuses of Yale-New Haven Hospital.
The man’s injuries are non-life-threatening, while the woman is in critical but stable condition.
No arrests have been made in connection with any of the shootings.

Authorities are also requesting that anyone with video surveillance or information about the incidents at Ferry and State Streets, Shelton Avenue, or Level and Lodge Streets.
