Jaffrey teen dies in collision with car on Dublin Road

JAFFREY — A 17-year-old Dublin resident died after a collision with a car while riding an electric scooter on Dublin Road near Gilson Road on July 13 at 1:10 p.m., according to the Jaffrey Police Department.

Dennis Jewell, 22, of Jaffrey, was driving a black 2007 Saab 9-3 when the head-on crash occurred.

The scooter rider, whose name has not been released, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to UMASS Medical Center in Worcester.

The victim later died from the injuries sustained in the accident.

The Jaffrey Police Department, assisted by the Dublin Police Department, Jaffrey Fire Department, Jaffrey-Rindge Memorial Ambulance, Peterborough Ambulance, and UMASS Life Flight, responded to the incident.

Initial findings from the investigation have not indicated any inappropriate driving by Jewell.

Authorities are continuing to investigate all aspects of the crash.

Chief Muilenberg of the Jaffrey Police Department expressed his department’s commitment to a thorough investigation and extended condolences to the family of the deceased.
