Wethersfield police investigate suspicious death at local motel

WETHERSFIELD — On Saturday, July 13, at approximately 5:53 a.m., Wethersfield Police Department (WPD) officers responded to a 911 call at Motel 6 located at 1341 Silas Deane Highway, where a deceased male was found in room 168.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed the presence of the deceased individual and enlisted the Wethersfield Detective Division to take over the ongoing investigation.

Due to the suspicious nature of the death, the Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime Squad has joined the investigation at the request of WPD, under the guidance of the New Britain State’s Attorney Office, GA15.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin.

Preliminary information suggests that this incident was isolated, and officials have stated there is currently no threat to the wider community.

As the investigation remains active, WPD assures that further updates will be made available as more information is obtained.
