CONWAY — A motor vehicle crash on July 12 resulted in a fatality and a fire when a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck collided on East Main Street at about 3:57 p.m.

Conway Police Department officers arrived at the scene to find a 2022 Peterbilt tractor pulling a 2009 Manac trailer had collided with a 2002 Ford F150 pickup truck.

The collision led to both vehicles catching fire.

The driver of the pickup truck succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident and has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.

The tractor-trailer’s driver, Andrew Ouellette, 35, received minor injuries and was treated at Memorial Hospital.

Due to the serious nature of the crash, the Conway Police Department enlisted the help of the New Hampshire State Police Troop E Barracks, the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit, and Troop G Barracks to conduct a thorough investigation.

Preliminary findings indicate that the tractor-trailer crossed the centerline while heading eastbound and struck the westbound Ford F150.

The Conway Fire Department and Crowell’s Towing also provided assistance at the scene.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.

They urge anyone with video footage or information related to the incident to contact Trooper First Class Daniel R. Quartulli at [email protected].
