CHESTERFIELD — A serious motor vehicle accident early Saturday morning on Route 9 resulted in severe injuries to three occupants, according to the Chesterfield Police Department.

At around 7:47 a.m., emergency services, including the Chesterfield Police Department, New Hampshire State Police, and various fire departments, were called to a scene near Thomas Construction where a silver Jeep Grand Wagoneer had veered off the road.

The vehicle, carrying Timothy McManus, 36, Zuleyka McManus, 37, both of Newbury, NH, and a male juvenile, was discovered approximately 500 feet into the woods.

Rescue workers extricated two individuals trapped inside the vehicle.

All three occupants were transported to Cheshire Medical Center with serious injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the vehicle was heading east when it inexplicably swerved and hit a sign.

It then went airborne for about 47 feet and came to rest in a stream in the woods.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.

The Chesterfield Police Department is asking any witnesses to come forward and contact Acting Chief Lance Rouse at (603) 363-4233 ext. 62 or via email at [email protected].
