MANCHESTER — Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a deadly hit-and-run collision that claimed the life of a 71-year-old bicyclist earlier this month.
The incident occurred on July 3 when the cyclist was struck by a car at the intersection of Central St and Union St. He sustained a serious head injury and later died at the hospital.
Eyewitness accounts described the fleeing vehicle as a black Nissan Rogue with potential veteran’s plates, last seen heading east on Central St.
After an extensive investigation, police located the vehicle and identified 59-year-old Stanley Richardson of Candia as the driver.
Richardson turned himself in to authorities and faces a felony charge of Conduct After an Accident –Injury/Death.
Richardson is being held on preventative detention and awaits a court hearing.
