Lewiston police seize drugs, firearm in early morning raid

LEWISTON — Lewiston Police, in collaboration with the Maine State Police Tactical Team and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, conducted a successful raid in the early hours of Friday, July 12, resulting in significant drug and firearm seizures.

The search warrant executed at the 70 River St. property followed a prolonged drug investigation.

Officers recovered approximately 60 grams of methamphetamine, 20 grams of heroin mixed with Fentanyl, and a stolen firearm from the premises.

Authorities arrested 35-year-old Keith Gauthier of Lewiston, charging him with two counts of Aggravated Trafficking of Schedule W Drugs, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm), and Violation of Conditional Release.

Additionally, police apprehended David Giasson, 48, on outstanding warrants related to Violating Conditional Release, Aggravated Forgery, and Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer.

The Lewiston Police Department indicated that the investigation is ongoing and anticipates further arrests related to this case.
