KEENE — At 1:50 a.m. on July 13, Keene Police Department officers were dispatched to a disturbance at the Hampton Inn on Key Road after hotel staff reported an aggressive male confronting guests in the parking lot.

Upon arrival, police encountered 38-year-old Corey Hale, who was armed with a knife.

Despite attempts to negotiate, Hale began to harm himself with the weapon.

Officers deployed less-lethal kinetic impact projectiles to subdue Hale and take him into custody without further incident.

Hale received medical attention on-site and was subsequently transported to the Cheshire Medical Center Emergency Department for additional care.

Following treatment, Hale was taken to the Cheshire County House of Corrections.

He is being held in preventative detention, facing charges of Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct.

His arraignment is set for July 15 at the 8th Circuit Court – District Division – Keene.

The Keene Police Department was assisted by the New Hampshire State Police and the Keene Fire Department.

No other injuries were reported, and authorities have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to public safety following the incident.
