KEENE — At approximately 1:50 a.m. on July 13, Keene Police officers were called to the Hampton Inn on Key Road after receiving reports of a man behaving aggressively toward patrons in the parking lot.

Upon arrival, officers encountered 38-year-old Corey Hale, who was in possession of a knife.

Despite attempts to negotiate, Hale began to injure himself with the weapon.

To ensure the safety of all involved, officers used less-lethal kinetic impact munitions to subdue and apprehend Hale.

Hale received on-site medical attention before being transported to the Cheshire Medical Center Emergency Department for further evaluation.

Following treatment, he was taken to the Cheshire County House of Corrections.

Hale faces charges of Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct and is being held in preventive detention.

His arraignment is set for July 15 at the 8th Circuit Court – District Division – Keene.

The incident, which resulted in no other injuries, was supported by the New Hampshire State Police and the Keene Fire Department.

Authorities have confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to public safety following the event.
