FAA building in Washington vandalized, police seek information

WASHINGTON — Troopers from the Vermont State Police – Berlin Barracks are investigating an act of vandalism at a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) facility after significant damage was reported.

Authorities were notified of the incident at the FAA building located at 784 Cyr Hts. in the Town of Washington.

The destruction has caused a considerable interruption to the equipment’s functionality, which is critical for aviation operations.

The vandalism is believed to have taken place sometime between June 27 and July 2.

The extent of the damage has prompted an active and ongoing investigation.

As of now, the perpetrators remain unidentified, and no arrests have been made.

The FAA, which operates numerous facilities across the country to ensure safe and efficient air travel, is working to restore operations to normal as quickly as possible.

State police are urging anyone who may have information regarding this act of unlawful mischief to come forward.
