BARNSTABLE — Two Somerville men were arrested Wednesday for allegedly trafficking fentanyl and cocaine on Cape Cod, authorities said.

Johnathan Gomes, 23, and Nathaniel Wallace-Gomes, 25, were taken into custody following a multi-agency investigation involving the Barnstable Police Department, Massachusetts State Police, and the Drug Enforcement Administration Cape Cod Task Force.

Law enforcement officials seized 105 grams of fentanyl and 122 grams of cocaine during the arrests, according to police.

Both men were charged with multiple narcotics violations, including conspiracy and trafficking fentanyl and cocaine.

They were arraigned Thursday in Falmouth District Court and ordered held without bail for 90 days.

Gomes is scheduled for a dangerousness hearing on July 18.

After the 90-day period, Wallace-Gomes will be held on $25,000 cash bail.

The arrests were the result of a months-long partnership between local and state agencies aimed at combating drug trafficking and violent crimes in the Cape Cod area.

Authorities said Gomes and Wallace-Gomes were identified as traveling to Cape Cod specifically to sell illegal drugs.
