Stolen vehicle pursuit ends in crash, arrest in Claremont

CLAREMONT — A stolen vehicle pursuit ended in a crash and arrest Sunday night in Claremont, New Hampshire State Police said.

At 10:27 p.m. July 9, Trooper Michael Gilboy observed a vehicle failing to maintain its lane while traveling westbound on Washington Street.

The vehicle had been reported stolen from Harrisville earlier that day.

When Gilboy activated his emergency lights, the driver refused to stop, initiating a pursuit.

The driver lost control, drove off the road and crashed.

Anthony Wilson, 26, of Keene, was arrested without incident.

He was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock in Lebanon for minor injuries and later released on bail.

Wilson faces charges including disobeying an officer, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, receiving stolen property, aggravated DUI, operating after suspension and reckless operation.

He is scheduled to appear in Claremont District Court on July 22.

Claremont Police Department, Claremont Fire Department and Golden Cross Ambulance assisted at the scene.
