MANCHESTER — A 37-year-old Manchester man faces multiple assault charges after a 2-month-old boy was hospitalized with severe head injuries.

Jesse Warren was arrested July 11 and charged with felony first-degree assault on a child under 13, second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child, Manchester police said.

The infant was brought to Elliot Hospital unresponsive at 3 p.m. July 7.

Medical staff found bruising on the baby’s face and head and determined he was suffering from significant head trauma.

The child was airlifted to a Boston hospital for further treatment due to the severity of his injuries.

Detectives from the Manchester Police Juvenile Unit investigated and learned Warren was caring for the baby when the injuries occurred.

Police arrested Warren without incident at his Manchester home.

He was placed on preventative detention pending a court hearing.
