Suspect arrested in Roxbury shooting incident

BOSTON — Police arrested a 22-year-old man Thursday in connection with a shooting that damaged vehicles and property in Roxbury earlier this month.

Nyshiem Shaw of West Roxbury was taken into custody at 6:01 a.m. by members of the Boston Police Department’s Youth Violence Strike Force, authorities said.

Shaw was wanted on a warrant for multiple charges stemming from the July 7 incident.

According to police, officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation indicating 15 rounds fired near 76 Bower Street around 3:45 a.m. on July 7.

Upon arrival, they found ballistic damage to three vehicles and a building.

Shaw faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, and four counts of destruction of property over $1,200.

He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
