PUTNAM — A man was found bleeding from a serious head wound on the evening of July 8 after an assault involving a blunt object, according to the Putnam Police Department.

Officers were called to the intersection of Front Street and School Street at around 6:57 p.m. following reports of an injured male.

The victim was not immediately located but was later discovered outside a business on Kennedy Drive within the Riverfront Commons area.

The Putnam EMS stabilized the victim at the scene and then transferred him to Day Kimball Hospital.
