Man arrested for DUI after erratic driving leads to crash in Rockingham

ROCKINGHAM — Vermont State Police arrested a 35-year-old Weathersfield man on suspicion of DUI and negligent operation after he crashed his vehicle on Rockingham Road.

Authorities were notified of an erratic driver leaving Chester and heading toward Rockingham around 5:59 p.m. on July 10.

Troopers responded to the scene where they found a car with a single occupant who was later transported to Springfield Hospital as a precaution.

The driver, identified as David L.

Vanalstyne, showed signs of impairment when troopers spoke with him at the hospital.

He was arrested, issued a citation, and released.

Vanalstyne is due to appear at the Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division on Sept. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
