WEST GARDINER — Maine State Police confirmed today that Michael Albert, a 55-year-old local resident reported missing earlier this week, was found deceased.

Officials expressed condolences to Albert’s family during this challenging period.

Heather Albert reported her husband missing on July 8 after he vanished from their home at 28 Arthur Street.

According to her, Michael had been struggling with a psychotic break, exhibiting symptoms of paranoia and a disconnect from reality over the previous four days.

Along with Michael, his 2015 red Toyota Tundra CrewMax, bearing Maine license plate JAWS39, was also missing.

It was uncertain what he was wearing at the time of his disappearance, though it was likely khaki shorts and a T-shirt.

Additionally, a 22-caliber rifle was reported missing from the residence.

State Police are continuing their investigation and have not released further details surrounding the circumstances of Albert’s death.

They are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the State Police at 207-624-7076.
