CLINTON — A car crashed into a building on High Street in downtown Clinton on Tuesday, resulting in citations and criminal charges for the driver.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. near Coffeelands and the First Concern Pregnancy Resource Center.
The vehicle drove onto the sidewalk before colliding with the building.
No injuries were reported.
Clinton Police Department cited the driver for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating negligently to endanger.
Criminal charges are being pursued in Clinton District Court.
Clinton Fire Department, the town’s building inspector, and a local tow company responded to the scene alongside police officers to ensure safety.
In a separate incident the same day, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at approximately 8 p.m. The driver fled the scene, but police believe they have identified the vehicle and operator with public assistance.
That case remains under investigation.
