Worcester man arrested for assault, breaking and entering

WORCESTER — Worcester Police officers apprehended a man on charges of assault and breaking and entering after responding to a disturbance on Bowdoin Street at approximately 1:15 p.m. on July 9.

The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Kalif Carpio, was recognized by officers as having multiple outstanding arrest warrants.

Upon arrival at the scene, police observed Carpio leaving the area and initiated a foot chase as he ran through backyards along Pleasant Street.

Carpio was eventually detained on Elm Street following the pursuit.

Further investigation into the initial assault report provided probable cause to charge Carpio with entering a residence unlawfully and assaulting a male occupant.

In addition to the warrants, Carpio faces charges of aggravated breaking and entering in the daytime and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, identified as a floor.
