STURBRIDGE — An alleged armed robbery occurred at a private residence on Cricket Drive at approximately 9:57 a.m. today, according to the Sturbridge Police Department.
During the incident, the suspect discharged a firearm, but no injuries were reported.
The alleged robber then fled on foot into the nearby woods.
Police officers responded quickly to the scene and successfully took the suspect into custody shortly after the incident.
The Sturbridge Police Department has assured the community that all residents are safe and can resume their normal activities.
Chief Dessert emphasized that the situation is under control and the police are now actively investigating the case.
