REVERE — Detectives conducted a motor vehicle stop on a reported stolen car at approximately 11:45 a.m., leading to a brief pursuit and crash, authorities said.
The vehicle, operated by 29-year-old Chelsea resident Willie Jenkins, attempted to flee but crashed a short distance from the stop.
Jenkins then fled on foot but was apprehended by police.
The passenger, who sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash, will be summoned to court on various motor vehicle and drug charges.
Jenkins has been arrested and is facing multiple charges related to the motor vehicle infractions and drug offenses.
Police also discovered stolen property inside the vehicle, which they have linked to recent thefts at a local elderly housing facility.
Further investigation into the stolen items is ongoing.
