Naugatuck police seek witnesses to kittens thrown from car

NAUGATUCK — Naugatuck Police Department is appealing for witnesses after two kittens were reported thrown from a moving vehicle on July 8 near North Church Street by the dam.

At around 9:45 a.m., authorities received distressing reports of the incident involving a maroon sedan heading south on Route 63.

The two kittens, aged between 4 to 5 months, were found deceased on the road.

According to witnesses, the suspect is an older white female with white hair, who was seen throwing the kittens from the driver’s side door of the sedan.

Investigating officers are particularly interested in speaking with the driver of a black car that allegedly swerved to avoid the kittens.

This vehicle was directly behind the sedan involved in the incident.
