NAUGATUCK — A 16-year-old male was arrested Sunday after police tracked him from an abandoned stolen vehicle to a nearby home.

At approximately 8 p.m. on July 7, police responded to a call about a suspicious motor vehicle with damage near Culver Street and Homestead Avenue.

The caller reported seeing a juvenile male with puffy hair abandon a Honda Civic.

Officers determined the car was stolen from Ridgefield.

K9 Hardy, a recent graduate of the K9 academy, tracked the suspect from the vehicle to a residence where the teen was found.

A witness confirmed the juvenile as the person seen leaving the vehicle.

The teen, who had recently been arrested in connection with another stolen car, was taken into custody.

The suspect was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle under Connecticut General Statute 53a-119c.

He was issued a juvenile summons and released to a parent.

The teen is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Juvenile Matters Court at 7 Kendrick Avenue on July 8 at 9 a.m.
