PORTSMOUTH — A Connecticut man faces charges of driving under the influence with minors in the vehicle after a traffic stop in Portsmouth on July 6.
Jhonny Cespedes-Gil, 32, of Hartford, was arrested after police observed his vehicle crossing the center line of the roadway.
Officers found two children, ages 6 and 1, in the back seat during the stop.
Cespedes-Gil was charged with DUI of liquor/drugs with a child passenger under 13 years of age.
He was released with a summons to appear in Newport County District Court on July 18.
The children were released to family members at the scene.
This arrest was one of five DUI arrests made by Portsmouth police between July 4 and July 7 as part of enhanced enforcement operations.
