Sutton man reported missing after failing to return from Burke

BURKE — Vermont State Police are seeking information on the whereabouts of Eric Hackett, 40, of Sutton, after he was reported missing late Friday evening.

Hackett was last seen on Darling Hill Road at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Friday.

According to police, he did not return home from work and was reported missing around 10:20 p.m. He was supposed to ride his electric bike from his workplace in Burke to his residence on Route 5 in Sutton but never arrived.

Hackett is described as 6 feet tall, weighing around 220 pounds, with short blond/red hair and a mustache.

He was last seen wearing brownish-green pants, a T-shirt, a baseball cap, and a bike helmet, along with an orange, fluorescent vest.

His blue electric bike is equipped with blue saddlebags.

Authorities have released a recent photo of Hackett to aid the public in identifying him.

The Vermont State Police-St Johnsbury is asking anyone with information about Hackett’s last known movements or current location to contact them at (802) 748-3111.
