WESTBOROUGH — A 58-year-old woman in a wheelchair was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle on Lyman Street near Turnpike Road, police said Friday.
Westborough Public Safety Dispatch Center received multiple 911 calls at about 12:49 p.m. regarding the incident.
Police and fire units arrived to find the victim with serious head injuries.
The driver of the 2017 Toyota Rav 4, a 53-year-old woman from Northbridge, stayed at the scene following the collision.
The Westborough Fire Department transported the injured woman to Umass for treatment of her injuries.
The Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council’s crash reconstruction team is investigating the crash, with assistance from Mass DOT for traffic control.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
