NASHUA — A local man faces multiple charges including felony drug possession and assault after being taken into custody by the Nashua Police Department.
Wayne Geddes, 44, of Nashua, New Hampshire, was arrested on charges of felony Acts Prohibited; Possession of a Controlled Drug (Cocaine), Subsequent Offense, felony Second Degree Assault (strangulation)-Domestic Violence, and two counts of misdemeanor domestic violence- simple assault.
Police responded to a call from a woman known to Geddes who reported a domestic assault at her residence.
She claimed Geddes strangled her during an altercation and hit her in the face twice.
Officers apprehended Geddes at the scene.
Upon his arrest, Geddes was found in possession of a substance that was identified as cocaine.
The Special Investigations Division conducted further inquiries and confirmed that Geddes had a prior conviction for possession of a controlled drug, elevating the current charge to a subsequent offense.
Geddes is being held on preventative detention and is scheduled to appear before the 9th Circuit-District Division-Nashua Court for arraignment on July 5 at 1 p.m.
