Man faces DUI, drug charges after traffic stop in Irasburg

IRASBURG — Vermont State Troopers arrested a N Troy man on charges of DUI and possession of cocaine following a traffic stop on VT Route 58 in Irasburg late Wednesday night.

At 11:19 p.m., troopers patrolling the area observed a vehicle being driven erratically.

Upon initiating a traffic stop, they identified the driver as 44-year-old Matthew Manning.

Manning exhibited signs of impairment and was taken into custody under suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

Further investigation revealed that Manning was operating with a criminally suspended driver’s license.

A search incident to his arrest also led to the discovery of cocaine.

Manning was processed at the Vermont State Police Derby Barracks and subsequently lodged at the Northern State Correctional Facility for violating conditions set by Probation and Parole.
