Swanton man arrested on home improvement fraud charges

ST. ALBANS — A Swanton man was arrested on an active warrant for felony home improvement fraud after turning himself in to state police, authorities said.

Scott Taylor, 31, met troopers at the St. Albans Barracks around 8:21 p.m. on July 3.

He was wanted on charges of home improvement fraud involving losses greater than $1,000.

Taylor was cooperative with law enforcement, processed at the barracks, and then transported to the Northwest State Correctional Facility, according to a police statement.

He was held on $1,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court the next business day at 1 p.m.

The specific charge Taylor faces is under 13 VSA 2029(b)(1), which pertains to home improvement fraud with a loss amount exceeding $1,000 or an aggregate of $2,500.
